This Is Why You Should Sing!

"Singing in a choir is more than just a bit of fun.
It's been scientifically proven that it is good for
your healthfrom getting more oxygen into the
blood stream, to increasing the flow of feelgood
hormones, and to improving overall mental health."

There are many, many articles on the health benefits of
singing in a choir or chorus on the internet these days!

This is still a favorite of mine to share with students!

I really love the David Bowie narrated version best!

Happy 126th Birthday to you, Sergei Prokofiev!

Ukulele!

I've been really enjoying playing the ukulele a lot lately!

And I'm ready to take my passion for playing to my

The Planets...

3rd Graders recently enjoyed this amazing piece of work
composed by Gustav Holst (NOT John Williams!) over
100 years ago! Click the below video to watch and listen!

Recently, my mom performed with a choir in the final
movement of this suite on Neptune, The Mysterious!

Here is a small review of that part of the performance:

I thought that might help to enjoy listening to the music!

Music Twister!

Second Graders learned all about the lines and spaces
of the Music Staff with a game called Music Twister!

Spring... Revisited!

First Grade students learned all about Rondo Form
in music through Antonio Vivaldi's "Spring" from
his "Four Seasons!" We also got to use a parachute!

These 4th Graders LOVED revisiting this lesson
when they had an extra Music Lesson last week!

This young student loved performing for us!
